Want to take a deep breath and dive in? To set off on the creative journey of sewing? To dig out that sewing machine hiding at the back of Grandma's cupboard? Do you dream of a unique wardrobe made from great fabrics?
Whether you've already made friends with the sewing machine or not, if you'd like to jump straight in and make the cool La Mousse bag together in a small group, this is the perfect chance. We design, cut and sew together, and in the end we wear it proudly over the shoulder. Not hidden away under the café table, but set right on top, so we can collect all the compliments.
In a fixed group we support each other in gaining the sewing super power. We get creative and frustrated together, pick up tricks, celebrate and marvel, all while everyone works on their own dream project. Whenever you get stuck or have a question, there's someone to turn to 🙂
If you feel you need my full attention, whether it's because of the complexity of your project, or because you want less distractions during your learning, or for any other reason, then private sessions are the perfect match.
I'm Petra, and I've been in love with sewing for 22 years. I'd love to show as many people as possible how wonderful it is to make unique clothes for yourself —or for the people who matter to you— with focus, care, and some planning.
I also think it's eye-opening to see just how many different steps go into making a single garment, and why most of the clothes sold in shops are called fast —or even ultra-fast— fashion.
I wanted a place in Budapest where we can work in a small group: together, yet each on our own chosen clothes. Ideally, in fixed groups of four, so you can dedicate a few hours to sewing each week — a kind of relaxation, even when the seam ripper comes out a few times (and what is a seam ripper, anyway?).
I want to support you at every step, decision, snag, ideation, pattern hack, and even pattern drafting — but only when you need it.
The model for Re-stitch Studio is a workshop near Barcelona, where it dawned on me that teaching sewing is my real passion. Since then I've also acquired professional training and qualifications, and worked in several places; and the moment has now come to make my dream real and infect you with the passion of sewing and making beautiful clothes.
